The links at left provide information on some of the most common ways individuals and companies support the USO and our nation's troops.  This list, however, provides 101 specific ideas spanning a wide range of giving opportunities - from giving of your time or talents today to honoring our troops with a bequest.

A Million Acts of Kindness


The USO of Metropolitan New York (“USO”) is seeking fundraisers for the “A Million Acts of Kindness” campaign, which will raise one million dollars through individual giving. A Million Acts of Kindness will provide the necessary resources to deliver more than 20,000 USO Packs – Gifts from Home which will include personalized messages from individuals in the United States. The USO Packs will be sent to our troops serving in harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2008, 1,700 members of the New York Army National Guard are being deployed. In March of 2008, the largest deployment of troops (3,200) since World War II are deploying from New Jersey. Funds raised from A Million Acts of Kindness provide morale and personal welfare services to active duty military and their families.

The USO is looking for your commitment to raise $1,000. Ask friends, rally family, excite your neighbors and motivate your co-workers to support the troops and help meet your goal of $1,000.
